POSITION OVERVIEW
S. G. Torrice is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our finance team in Wilmington, MA. Responsibilities will be to primarily support all accounts payable and receivable functions. The ideal candidate should be an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ownership/triage of accounting email inboxes
- Data entry of all vendor invoices and matching to purchase orders
- Review vendor statements for accuracy and resolve any issues or disputes
- Download invoices and credits from vendor portals
- Communicate with branch managers regarding aged open purchase orders
- Assist with weekly check runs and mailing of payments
- Assist with mailing customer invoices and statements
- Make occasional bank deposits
- Review, maintain, and update price increases and discrepancies
- Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly and year end closings
QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
- B.S. preferred with an accounting, finance, or business concentration
- Must be detail oriented and present accuracy
- Must possess excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Must be self-motivated, able to prioritize, and multitask to meet daily deadlines
- Proficient in a computerized environment: MS Excel, MS Word, e-mail, internet, etc.
