POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Warehouse Manager provides leadership to the team responsible for the physical receipt and shipment of product to and from S. G. Torrice. The Assistant Warehouse Manager reports to the Warehouse Manager and is jointly accountable for the day-to-day operations and requires a process-oriented approach that will consequently drive positive results.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide day-to-day direction and instruction to the shipping and receiving teams, responsible for the safe unloading, accurate receipt and put-away of product, the accurate shipment of orders and the overall upkeep of the warehouse
  • Works closely with Accounts Payable team to ensure proper processing of POs that are received
  • Ensures that damages are documented, and that Claims Manager is notified of any incoming freight received with damage
  • Maintains a safe and clean workplace that is accident and incident free
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with all warehouse associates, peers and customers
  • Helps to develop and implement the appropriate processes to ensure that orders are accurately picked, processed, and shipped
  • Learns, understands and teaches the proper use of RF in the warehouse. Ensure that all warehouse associates are following best practices

QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with a strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with customers, employees, peers, and management
  • Flexibility to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to multi-task and highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Forklift certification required
  • Proficient with MS office applications, in particular Outlook, Excel, and Word
