POSITION OVERVIEW
S. G. Torrice is seeking a Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of running our custom fabrication sheet metal shop. You will be responsible for managing a team including a Shop Foreman and several Shop Fabricators. Knowledge of HVAC and metal ductwork preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Answer customer calls and assist with building and designing custom orders
- Schedule and coordinate customer orders and/or deliveries
- Create, process and review Purchase Orders
- Supervise team members, workflow, and material handling
- Coordinate material ordering with Purchasing Manager
- Manage simultaneous custom projects and production scheduling
- Review work orders and adjust procedures and schedules accordingly
- Maintain safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
- 5+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of prior HVAC/sheet metal fabrication experience
- Master Sheet Metal License.
- Able to manage a crew of any size.
- Able to read blueprints and prepare materials lists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and punctual.
- Must be able to multi-task and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
