POSITION OVERVIEW

S. G. Torrice is currently seeking a Manager of Vendor Relations & Facilities to join our team in Wilmington, MA. The selected candidate will have the responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and managing special projects related to facilities procurement and maintenance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Negotiate with vendors to secure the most advantageous pricing and other considerations possible (extended terms, cash discounts, co-op funds, special promotional discounts, material)
  • Act as point person for all vendor contact, and as a clearinghouse for the dissemination to Operations and Sales & Marketing of any new or updated product information, including pricing
  • Lead the process of evaluating the potential of prospective new products and new product lines
  • Monitor progress towards and maximize vendor rebate programs
  • Initiate programs in conjunction with sales and marketing to eliminate overstock, or obsolete or non-performing products and product lines
  • Assist in the merchandising of products
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the product file descriptions
  • Lead procurement process for sundries – vehicles, forklifts, shelving, etc. – as needed
  • Fleet Management including procurement and records
  • Act as liaison to landlords. Maintain lease records and renegotiate leases

QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience and training
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of management and employees
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be proactive with a high level of responsiveness to internal customer requests
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to work well within a team, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Must possess strong computer and internet skills and be capable of learning the company’s customer system, Eclipse, including order processing and inventory queries; must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must maintain a valid US driver’s license and be able to travel between corporate offices and remote branches as required
